Cong-Qiu Chu is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. His research focuses on clinical rheumatology, specifically investigating inflammatory rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. His recent work explores the epidemiological links between vasculitis and tumors, mRNA vaccine-based approaches to targeting fibrosis in arthritis, and sex-dependent mechanisms in temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis. He has also examined fibroblast-specific signaling pathways in extracellular matrix homeostasis and tissue fibrosis. His research integrates immunology, inflammation, and translational medicine to address challenges in developing new therapeutics for rheumatic conditions.
