Christina Roland is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in surgical oncology and sarcoma research. Her work integrates surgery, radiation oncology, and immunology to advance treatment for malignant soft tissue tumors. She recently led consensus guidelines on perioperative care in retroperitoneal sarcoma surgery (Annals of Surgical Oncology, 2026) and published real-world outcomes of doxorubicin plus trabectedin in leiomyosarcoma (Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2026). Roland directs the SATURN-STS phase II trial investigating neoadjuvant atezolizumab with doxorubicin and pre-operative radiation for high-risk extremity sarcomas. Her translational research includes a spatially-resolved single-cell atlas of liposarcoma revealing lineage hierarchies and immune niches, plus tumor-informed B cell receptors for antibody-based immunotherapy. She also examines clinical trial enrollment barriers for leiomyosarcoma patients.
