S. Cheenu Kappadath is a Professor in the Department of Imaging Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on quantitative medical physics, specifically the dosimetry and treatment planning of Yttrium-90 radioembolization for liver malignancies, including intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and metastatic colorectal carcinoma. He has led international multidisciplinary efforts to establish clinical dosimetric guidelines and practice parameters for radioembolization, and has recently investigated microsphere deposition algorithms for microdosimetry and validated PHITS dose-voxel kernels for internal dosimetry. His work also encompasses molecular breast imaging uptake quantification in patients undergoing neoadjuvant therapy.
