Chad Huff is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on human genetics, cancer genomics, and the genetic architecture of cancer susceptibility, with particular emphasis on prostate cancer, melanoma, and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. His recent work has identified novel genetic risk loci for pancreatic cancer in African ancestry populations, characterized germline variants in cancer susceptibility genes among mucosal melanoma patients, and uncovered a high-penetrance intergenic variant at 9p21 conferring melanoma susceptibility. He has also investigated the genetic overlap between congenital anomalies and childhood cancer risk, and benchmarked DNA foundation models for genomic and genetic tasks. His research integrates genome biology, medical genetics, and population-scale genomics to advance cancer risk prediction and precision oncology.
