Carrie R. Daniel-MacDougall is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research integrates oncology, public health, and clinical nutrition, focusing on the gut microbiome, dietary interventions, and cancer outcomes. Her latest work examines how dietary fiber modifies bile acid and peripheral immune profiles in melanoma patients receiving immunotherapy, and its association with improved survival in melanoma and sarcoma. She also investigates testosterone levels and disease progression in prostate cancer on active surveillance, alongside digital weight-loss and culinary medicine strategies for cancer prevention. Her research has been funded by a $791,000 grant for the BE GONE trial, which enriches the gut microbiome of obese colorectal cancer survivors.
