Cara Haymaker is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on cancer immunotherapy, tumor immunology, and cellular therapy, with specific interests in the tumor microenvironment, spatial profiling of immune responses, and the development of engineered tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapies. Her recent work includes investigating combination immunotherapies for refractory metastatic squamous cell carcinoma, exploring the oncogenic role of lysine demethylase KDM4C in KRAS-mutant pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, and applying multimodal data integration and foundation models to cancer research. She has published extensively in leading journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology and Cancer Research, and leads translational studies on spatial analysis of HER2-positive breast cancer.
