Burton F. Dickey is a Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on respiratory immunology and cellular physiology, specifically investigating airway secretory cell biology, including the organization of the Golgi apparatus and the regulation of mucin and cytokine production via beta-2-adrenoceptor signaling. His recent work also addresses clinical complications in transplant recipients, such as restrictive ventilatory defects and lung graft-versus-host disease, alongside inflammatory markers and microbiome dysbiosis. He has contributed to understanding immune checkpoint inhibitor pneumonitis and inflammatory epithelial stem cell variants in cystic fibrosis.
