Bruce Bunnell is a High Senior Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. His research integrates regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and cancer biology, with a focus on stem cell biology, adipose stromal cell heterogeneity, and tumor microenvironment dynamics. Recent work explores TNIK and MINK1 signaling in triple-negative breast cancer tumorigenesis, ECM remodeling in obesity-associated breast cancer, and macrophage phenotypes modulating neoangiogenesis in synovial organoids. He also develops innervated synovium-cartilage chips for modeling knee joint inflammation and pain, and investigates induced pluripotent stem cells for disease modeling and drug discovery. His contributions span glioblastoma therapeutic frontiers and the role of adipose stromal cells in breast cancer metastasis.
