Brian O'Roak is a Professor of Molecular and Medical Genetics at Oregon Health & Science University. His research integrates human genetics, genomics, and molecular neuroscience to elucidate the genetic architecture of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders. His recent work includes large-scale genomic analyses of de novo and inherited variants in over 42,000 autism cases, identifying moderate-risk genes, and functional studies of patient-specific Tbr1 mutations on cortical development. He also leads the Healthy Oregon Project, a statewide population cohort for cancer and inherited disease screening, and has contributed to studies on aerosol delivery of SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibodies.
