Brandon Hedrick is a Senior Professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans. His research integrates evolutionary biology, vertebrate paleontology, and functional morphology, focusing on the evolutionary ecology of mammals and birds. Current work employs three-dimensional morphometrics and anatomical imaging to investigate pulmonary anatomy in finches (Taeniopygia castanotis), the role of body mass evolution in driving morphological and ecological diversity in terrestrial mammals, and morphological variation in python genitalia. Hedrick has recently published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Journal of Morphology, and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B. His research also extends to developmental plasticity in avian limb skeleton evolution, veterinary education via 3D printing, and thermal biology in olive ridley sea turtles.
