Blessie E. Nelson is an Assistant Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on the genomic characterization of metaplastic breast cancer, tumor-agnostic precision medicine, and the modulation of the tumor microenvironment through immunotherapeutic agents. She has led genomic analyses using the AACR GENIE database to identify vulnerabilities in metaplastic breast cancer and has contributed to early-phase clinical trials investigating NLRP3 agonists and intratumoral bacterial therapies combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors. Her work bridges oncology, pathology, and immunology to advance targeted cancer treatment strategies.
