Bita Esmaeli

Bita Esmaeli is a Professor and Oncologic Ophthalmic Plastic and Orbital Surgeon at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her research focuses on the surgical oncology and pathology of orbital, ocular adnexal, and periocular tumors, including eyelid sebaceous carcinoma, lacrimal gland adenoid cystic carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. Her recent work has examined imaging findings after multidisciplinary treatment, the timing of nodal metastasis for surveillance, and the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors and neoadjuvant targeted therapies such as trastuzumab emtansine for advanced lacrimal gland malignancies.
