Barrett Lawson is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on gynecologic oncology, particularly ovarian and cervical cancers, integrating tumor biology, pathology, and cell biology. Recent work includes developing an inducible FOXL2-dependent mouse model for adult-type granulosa cell tumors, evaluating CDK4/6 inhibitors in preclinical models, and employing long-read sequencing to uncover genomic and epigenomic alterations in high-grade serous ovarian cancer. He also applies spatial transcriptomics and deep learning to predict ovarian cancer prognosis from H&E-stained images, advancing precision oncology.
