Aysegul Sahin is a Professor of Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in breast oncology and tumor biology. Her research focuses on the molecular classification of breast cancer, including the pathologic characterization of fibroepithelial lesions, phyllodes tumors, and metastatic ER-positive/HER2-negative carcinomas. Recent work has identified IL-6 as a predictive biomarker for CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance, highlighting STAT3 as a therapeutic target, and has contributed to the 6th edition of the WHO classification of breast tumors. She has also advanced pan-tumor HER2-targeting strategies and emerging molecular therapeutic targets in breast cancer.
