Aron S. Buchman is a Senior Professor at Rush University. His research focuses on the neuroscience of aging, specifically the clinical and neuropathologic basis of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and cognitive impairment in older adults. His recent work employs wearable sensors and self-supervised learning to assess daily-living gait and heart rate, linking reduced physiologic complexity to faster cognitive decline. He also investigates structural variants and TDP-43 splicing dysregulation in neurodegeneration, alongside sleep and pericyte biology, advancing the understanding of age-related neuropathologic traits.
