Anupriya Agarwal is a Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, where her research focuses on hematological malignancies, particularly myeloid neoplasia and leukemia. Her work integrates cell biology, immunology, and pharmacology to investigate disease mechanisms and therapeutic resistance. Recent breakthroughs include identifying a CEBPB/IL-1β/TNF-α feedback loop driving drug resistance to venetoclax and MDM2 inhibitors in monocytic leukemia, and targeting the CD74 signaling axis to suppress inflammation and restore hematopoiesis in RUNX1-familial platelet disorder. She has also led the GEN-PHEN-VEN study correlating genetic and phenotypic factors with venetoclax outcomes in acute myeloid leukemia. Her ongoing projects examine germline DDX41 and CHEK2 variants in cancer predisposition, supported by major funding, including a $1.89 million award investigating low-dose sirolimus as early intervention for RUNX1-FPD patients?and a prior $792,000 grant exploring IL-1-driven AML progression. Her translational findings span publications in Science Translational Medicine, Blood, and Cancer Research.
