Annikka Weissferdt is a Professor of Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she specializes in thoracic and surgical pathology. Her research focuses on the histopathological characterization of lung cancer, primary thoracic sarcomas, and pulmonary mesenchymal tumors, with recent work exploring papillary adenocarcinoma prognosis and the spatial immune landscapes of non-small cell lung cancer in response to neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy. She has contributed to IASLC Pathology Committee studies on highly proliferative lung carcinoids and has published in venues including Nature Communications, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, and Laboratory Investigation. Her research integrates anatomical pathology with cancer immunology and radiation oncology, advancing diagnostic precision and therapeutic stratification in thoracic malignancies.
