Anand Paul is a High Senior Professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans. His research integrates computer science, data science, and systems engineering, with a focus on the Internet of Things, big data, smart cities, and deep learning. Recent work includes UAV path planning via multi-objective optimization, smart glove gesture recognition using a k-means++-improved genetic algorithm and radial basis function neural network, and AI-powered human activity recognition with attention networks. He has also contributed to robust hidden sequence decoding with enhanced hidden Markov models and dynamic neural network ensembles, universal dimensionality reduction techniques for feature extraction, fitness-assignment methods for constrained multi-objective optimization, and defect detection in fused deposition modelling using lightweight convolutional neural networks.
