Ana Aparicio is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in genitourinary oncology. Her research focuses on aggressive variant and neuroendocrine prostate cancer, metastasis-directed therapy, and the tumor microenvironment's role in treatment response. Recent breakthroughs include identifying early chemo-induced TME alterations predictive of PD-1 blockade response (C3NIRA trial) and leading the CHAMP phase 2 trial of chemoimmunotherapy. Her collaborative work includes the WOLVERINE meta-analysis of oligometastatic prostate cancer and the EXTEND trial, alongside mechanistic studies on CHD1 loss and SREBP2-driven cholesterol synthesis in castration resistance, published in Nature Cancer.
