Amol Jitendra Ghia is a Senior Professor at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in clinical radiation oncology, neuro-oncology, and spinal oncology. His research focuses on spine stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery, motion management in magnetic resonance-guided spine stereotactic body radiation therapy, and optimizing stereotactic radiosurgery decision-making for brain metastases. He has investigated reduced treatment volumes for glioblastoma, demonstrating associations with lower rates of radionecrosis and lymphopenia, and has examined preoperative versus postoperative stereotactic radiation therapy. His recent work includes developing an NCCN-based systemic therapy CNS activity score for patients with multiple brain metastases and advancing radiotherapy technologies for spine tumors. He has published in JAMA Oncology, the Journal of Neuro-Oncology, and Cancers, contributing to multidisciplinary approaches integrating surgery, radiology, and radiation oncology.
