Amir Anthony Jazaeri, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of chemoresistance and immunotherapy in high-grade serous ovarian cancer, particularly ferroptosis evasion, tumor-intrinsic METTL5 regulation of ATF4 translation, and extracellular vesicle-associated noncanonical ORFs as biomarkers of surgical outcome. He has led first-in-human trials of encapsulated IL-2-expressing cells and combination therapy with copanlisib and niraparib in recurrent endometrial and ovarian cancer. His work has been supported by a $720,000 grant investigating the EVI1 oncogene as a therapeutic target, and he maintains extensive international collaborations in translational ovarian cancer research.
