Hesham M. Amin is an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research focuses on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), specifically investigating prognostic and therapeutic biomarkers, including the growth hormone pathway, insulin-like growth factor 1, and circulating fibroblast growth factor 21. His recent work has identified high-impact susceptibility loci for HCC through genome-wide association studies and evaluated circulating tumor DNA as a response biomarker to nivolumab therapy. He has also contributed to measurable residual disease detection in acute myeloid leukemia using error-corrected next-generation sequencing. His publications appear in journals such as Hepatology, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Advances in Radiation Oncology, reflecting his translational focus on tumor biology, pathology, and precision oncology.
