Allison D. Fryer is a Senior Professor at Oregon Health & Science University. Her research integrates pharmacology, toxicology, and food safety, with current focus on airway neurobiology and maternal metabolic programming. Her recent work employs optogenetics to dissect vagal nerve control of bronchoconstriction and investigates how maternal high-fat diet programs offspring airway hyperinnervation and hyperresponsiveness. Concurrently, she conducts chemical safety assessments for the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM), publishing toxicity reviews for CAS-registered compounds in food and chemical toxicology. Additional interests include food chemistry and public health, bridging environmental exposures with respiratory disease mechanisms.
