Alaji Bah, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Upstate Medical University. His research integrates molecular biology, biophysics, and structural biology to investigate biomolecular structure and gene expression. Bah specializes in the phase separation of intrinsically disordered proteins, particularly MBD2 and MBD3, and their role in chromatin organization. His recent work, published in the *Biophysical Journal* and *Journal of Physical Chemistry B*, explores ion-specific modulation of condensates and lipoengineering to control material properties for organoid morphogenesis. He has also delineated the phosphorylation-dependent behavior of Frequency in the fungal circadian clock (*eLife*) and the structural propensities of 4E-BP2, contributing to understanding transcriptional regulation and DNA replication stress mechanisms.
