Ah-Hyung Park

Ah-Hyung Park is an Adjunct Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering at Columbia University, where she also serves as Director of the Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Applied Science from the University of British Columbia and her PhD from Ohio State University. Her research focuses on carbon capture and sequestration, sustainable energy conversion of solid wastes, and the selective electrochemical recovery of critical metals—including platinum group metals and cerium—from complex feedstocks using redox-copolymers and CO₂-responsive ligands. Her recent work also explores carbon mineralization and water-stable metal-organic frameworks for CO₂ capture from ambient air. Park has received the NSF CAREER Award and the James Lee Young Investigator Award, and she previously chaired the Fluidization and Fluid-Particle Systems Group at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
