Adam Waickman, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Upstate Medical University. His research focuses on the immunology of arboviruses, particularly dengue virus, and the dynamics of antibody responses following natural infection and vaccination. His recent work, published in the *Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences*, challenges the paradigm of lifelong homotypic immunity to dengue, while other studies employ controlled human infection models to map immunotranscriptomic features and epitope-level antibody dynamics. He also develops field-stable, saliva-based immunoassays for scalable surveillance of pathogen-specific immunity. His research integrates medical virology, tropical medicine, and communicable disease immunology to advance dengue vaccine and therapeutic strategies.
