Aaron Romanowsky is a Professor of Astronomy at San Jose State University. His research focuses on extragalactic astronomy, specifically the formation and evolution of dwarf galaxies, ultra-diffuse galaxies, and globular cluster systems. Recent work includes the discovery of a new class of dark matter-free dwarf galaxies and kinematic studies of ultra-compact dwarfs in tidal debris. He has been awarded major NSF grants, including for research on dark matter in galaxy halos and the origins of ultra-diffuse galaxies.
